C: Oh no, I’ve heard that makes your computer run really slowly. What about AVG Free, that’s really quick I hear?
We hear this often – too often to be truthful and it baffles us. Why would someone put so much trust in a free piece of software that the very same company (AVG) sells an up-market version of. If the free software were all that AVG thought you needed to keep your computer and the information on it safe, why do you think they sell a better version? We’re not saying that the free version is rubbish and that it doesn’t work – far from it, it does what it does very well. But that’s the point, it does what it does and what it does isn’t anywhere near as much as what the paid-for Internet security applications like AVG, Norton and Kaspersky do.
